A Little about me

a picture of Cope

Hi, I am Christipher Silas Cope, I have been around for nineteen years and some change now. I am now a sophomore at the University of Maine studying under the new media program. I grew up in the sticks and attended high school at Richmond High, and the Maine Scholl of Science and Mathematics and since 2009, and I have been a cashier at my local Shaws supermarket, oh and Im also legally blind.

I enjoy playing sandlot games, baseball, with my friends or whoever will play. I am not the greatest but I play bass and guitar and as everyone does I enjoy listening to music. I rather laid back and dont often get to worked up over things. As far as sports go, as can be seen, I am a fan of the Phillies, most of my family is located in Philadelphia so that is where my head tends to be. After I get through with college, whenever that may be, I would like to do something in the realms of advertising, however I have realized that I can be happy whether I end up holding two jobs or a college degree. I have faced my fair share of adversity and I have come to expect that in the remainder of my lifetime I will have more than enough to go around. This has been a brief introduction to me and this is my page

What I think of New Media

When I think of new media I think of developing ways in which material is brought to us. More specifically advertising and targeting demographics comes to mind. New media is fields in which things are never kept the same because things continue to further develop, and while technology continue to progress it is also important that past mediums are not forgotten and left to become desolate. With advertising, product placement, logos, and other surfaces of media being delivered to our finger tips we have learned to accept what we live with and will continue to do so whether for the worse or more productively.
